Sylvester was a bright student of Dowen College lekki Lagos before his demise. His death was shrouded in mystery with allegations of bullying and heinous act being the cause of death. Consequently, it has caught the attention of Nigerians and Nigerians are angry at the slow pace of the event that lead to his death.
The Autopsy report and subsequent release of all suspects in custody based on the DPP advice further heightened tension as regards the event that led to his death.
All eyes are now on the coroner inquest set to commence on the 15th of January 2022. A coroner inquest is an inquiry into the sudden, unexplained death of an individual. According to Section 15 sub-section 1 Coroner system law of Lagos state, a coroner inquest can be held whenever he is informed that the death of a deceased person lying within his coroner district was as a result of a violent, unnatural or suspicious situation. This clearly shows that circumstances that lead to Sylvester death fall within the provisions of the Coroner system law of Lagos state.
At this juncture, all we can do is follow the Inquisition and wait for the verdict. It is important to note that all suspects can be questioned, another autopsy can be conducted to ascertain the cause of death. Experts can be called to testify as the inquest continues.
